Marketing From A Woman's Point of View

36 Twitter Resources: Advanced Twitter Search for Business

Whether you decide to engage in social networking as a marketing strategy or not, Twitter has become a powerful tool to search and monitor your brand, your competitors, and for lead generation.  Beyond the basic search on the Twitter home page you can use advanced search techniques to produce targeted information not easily found in a normal Google search.

Want to know who’s talking about buying a new TV in Seattle?  How about people discussing the terrible customer service they received from one of your competitors?  Are you a journalist that needs case studies to report on?  Whatever you’re looking for, chances are you can find the answer in real time and target that information for whatever area  you like.

Depending on your market, some tools will be relevant while others worthless. With location-based applications gaining momentum and attracting more people to share where they go and how often they go is a huge advantage to us as entrepreneurs and marketers.

Sometimes we get so carried away with the new shiny thing that we overlook the basics. I will be doing that asap!

This is an amazing list. I'm always amazed that people don't think of Twitter as a research tool. I was once on a Flight coming back from Atlanta and the lady next to me was a nurse recruiter. We got on the subject of Twitter and she said she uses it all the time, but never Tweets. She simply does market research and found Twitter to be a great resource for her. Point is, Twitter isn't just about pushing out Tweets.

Yeah, you're absolutely right, Nehal. This is a big list that will work for all types of research, from large businesses to the solopreneur. The basic research is here and available with a little practice and a clear idea of what you want to accomplish, the possibilities are huge.

Thanks for coming by…hope to see lots more of you in the future! :)

  35. Coree (217 comments) says:

Thanks Christopher! We've had this wonderful toy that we've played with, talked to friends with, and maybe even done some business with. But, with an understanding of Twitter's advanced search, what we have been doing compared to what we COULD be doing will blow us away!

Imagine if you're one of the first ones to really master this like a pro….
