Hey Evan…yeah, I think that has been consensus from everyone I’ve asked about LinkedIn…we all have profiles, but they are not the main social platform being used to market ourselves. I, too, am guilty of not giving LinkedIn the attention it deserves, and I should. It was through LinkedIn that I was introduced to Michele Miller from WonderBranding and was able to do an interview with her. That’s what I mean about making LinkedIn my Rolodex…I use it more for communicating with other professionals and collaborating together more than I do to promote myself or my brand.

I’m like Jim – I have a LinkedIn profile, but don’t really use it. But I agree that it is the more professional leaning social network, so much so that I actually have a separate profile for my real life lawyer job, and one for my blog-related stuff. I didn’t want any of my blog stuff spilling over into my professional life, although I may revisit that decision some day.

I have a LinkedIn profile, but a poor one. I just haven’t used it enough. But, I should. THe people I know on LI are, like you said, more straight up business.

Damn, now I have to put that higher on my list, thanks..:~)
