Google Wave Invite Top Commenter Contest

Are you still waiting for a Google Wave invite?  I got my Wave a couple weeks ago and have a few invites to give out to a select few!  As a treat for both of us, I will be holding a weekly Top Commenter Contest for the entire month of December where the top 2 commenters each week will win a Google Wave invite.

What follows below are the rules that must be adhered to for the contest, as well as helpful tips for you to make the most of each week.

RULES To Win Google Wave Invite:

1. Memorize the Comment Policy. It’s strictly enforced:

• Provide a REAL NAME in the name field (Real name, Initials, One-word Nicknames.  Keywords accepted only with a real name: Name-keywords)
• Leave a RELEVANT COMMENT: Stay on topic and offer value. NO SPAMMY COMMENTS like  “nice post”, “thanks for sharing” or similar comments are relevant unless they are combined with more valuable content.  Remember, your comments are also YOUR content as a continuation of your blog.  I’d love to welcome you to our community)
• Provide a REAL EMAIL ADDRESS.  It is not published and I don’t spam. Sometimes I do like to thank you or touch bases and this is how I will do it.  I won’t go searching for you.
• Provide a LEGITIMATE URL in the URL field.  No affiliate links,  spam sites, made for AdSense, or bad taste (adult) sites.  It must be a link to your own blog or site.
• NO SIGNATURE LINKS and NO AFFILIATE LINKS.  I will either delete completely or maybe even change them to my own!  (Kidding, I wouldn’t steal affiliate links even if that your purpose was to blatantly spam my blog and discredit my reputation)

2. You may only win ONE Google Wave invite for the month. (One prize per winner)

3. To win you must leave a relevant comment and TWEET the blog post you are commenting on.  The two people that leave the most comments/tweets each week will be awarded on of the Google Wave Invites that were given to me.

4.  There may be an additional Top Commenter of the MONTH so keep coming back even if you already won. Anyone that would like to SPONSOR the monthly prize with their own materials is welcome to email me with their idea.

Helpful optional tips for your maximum benefit:

1. Subscribe via Email. I’d bet you check email more often then your feed reader, so you never miss a new post.

2. You’re allowed to comment on ANY post within the blog, not just the new ones.  So, you’re not limited on how many posts I write in a week.    Just remember rule #1!

3. Read the entire post AND comments (at least skim thoroughly) to be sure to leave something useful. Read rule #1 again.

4. Would you like a little promotion for your blog or business?  You can offer to sponsor a prize for the top commenter of the MONTH. This gives your business extra promotion, a lot. For starters, your Name & URL w/Keywords are displayed on the contest page as a do-follow contextual link. These contests are heavily promoted for everyones benefit.

5. Blog about this contest on your own blog and linkback to this page.  This will count as an additional 2 comments for the contest. Believe it or not, this helps everyone including you; especially if you’re a contest sponsor.

Each week’s contest will run Monday 12am MST to Sunday 11:59 MST. Contest begins this coming Monday, November 30th.   Winners will be announced in the Monday blog post, so be sure to check back.
