Whether you are using Twitter for a marketing tool, keeping up with the latest from your family and friends, or both…you are probably wondering how to makes sense of it all.  Personally, I am one of those people that get so overwhelmed when there are too many options that I totally freak out and want to abandon the whole idea.  With so many tweets coming through, so many followers and people to follow, how do you keep track of who you really want to hear from?

In my search to organize and filter tweets to stay involved but not overwhelmed I have bookmarked several Twitter tools that help me stay on track.  I’m sure there will be more, but these are some of my favorites that definitely help out!

  • http://www.tweetdeck.com/beta/ – By far the best and most popular organization tool for Twitter.  Set up groups to keep an eye on favorites, simplifies retweets, DM’s, and profile views.

Find out who your quitters are:

  • http://useqwitter.com/ – Qwitter checks your followers and notifies you as often as it can, depending on how many people are using it and how many followers they have.
  • http://tweeteffect.com/ – Find out which of your Twitter updates made people follow or leave you.

    I will have to check out some of these that you’ve listed. My latest favorite is http://www.twhirl.org/ It’s a mini but very powerful twitter ap. The thing I really love about it is that you have your different @names up at the same time and it has a bunch of easy to use tools built in.
