Marketing From A Woman's Point of View

Will Give Great Blog For Passes To Blogworld

blogworld 300x225 Will Give Great Blog For Passes To Blogworld What would YOU do to get FREE passes to BlogWorld… only the biggest Blogger’s network marketing extravaganza? The BlogWorld and New Media Expo 2009 is being held October 15 to 17 in Las Vegas.  Think about it, the biggest names in blogging will be there: Brian Clark from Copyblogger, Chris Brogan, Darren Rowse from ProBlogger, Mari Smith, Missy Ward, Jeremy Schoemaker and THE John Chow himself….all at the same event!

These are just a few of the Probloggers lined up for this year’s BlogWorld that make this event so sweet, but what makes it even SWEETER is that John Chow has 6 passes he is giving away for the best blog entry…with tonight being the deadline for entries!  John asks each contestant to tell him why they think they should win and what they will get out of the event.

Join the top bloggers and new media experts in the world at BlogWorld Expo 2009

Right up front, let me say that there are 2 things I will NOT do to win:

  1. I will not resort to exploiting any life threatening health issues my kids may have (Thank God we are all healthy!)
  2. I won’t spew  out a bunch of negative crap about how broke a single mom of four could be (I am grateful for everything I have & thankful more is coming in daily!)

BUT…what I WILL do is exploit my slightly hedonistic title telling the world that I give great blog.  Hey, it got you to look a little closer, didn’t it?  And it’s true.  So, why not learn from the Master’s at BlogWorld on how to improve my skills?

Sad to say, but I have not been to a live blogging event yet.  The last event I “attended” was the virtual Social Media Success Summit where I was able to hear from experts like Mari Smith, Chris Garrett, and Gary Vee (whose was FANTASTIC!  Talk about motivating…and his book “Crush It” just went on sale…get it here!). There was so much I learned and it gave me content ideas for months, but what was missing was the face to face elbow rubbing where you really get to know a person.

Of course, I did get to learn valuable tools, strategies and secrets to success, but attending live events is equally, if not more,  important. You get to see and be seen. You’ll have meaningful conversations in person. Plus to think of all the photo opps!! All the new uploads to Facebook, Flickr, and Twitpic with you hob-nobbing (no pun intended) with all the ProBloggers!!  Why is it a big deal to upload pictures from the expo?

  1. It causes conversation. People love to see the real person behind the computer and comment on the pics.
  2. It makes it look like you are part of the in crowd.  (as long as you look comfortable & not like a dweeb or a stalker)
  3. THEY will remember YOU more easily because they have the picture to refer back to.

All the online social networking in the world (including video conferencing) will never replace face-to-face networking. The virtual rapport you build online is a step in the right direction, but I see taking that step out into in-person networking as a way to make things “real”.  It’s easy to hide behind a computer and think about blogging as a full time business, but to grab it by the cajones and say “look out world, I’m for real!” is a completely different story.

So, hopefully you can see why I am excited about going to BlogWorld, but the question remains…

Why should John pick me?

That’s a tough one.  But if I didn’t like competition I wouldn’t be here.  So, here we go…

1.  I take my blogging seriously and intend to be around for a long long time.  The only thing is that…

2.  It seems I’ve leveled out.  I can’t seem to get my Alexa rank to move & I need some kick ass ideas to put into high gear so I can turn around and…

3.  I will teach what I have learned to all my readers & visitors.  That’s what my blog has always been about is bringing marketing ideas to people in an easy to understand way so they can duplicate what I’ve done, but…

4.  To offer really valuable advice on how to be successful in marketing I would like to be able to give readers my own testimonial of a six figure income with my blogging. To do that….

5.  I would spend my time at BlogWorld soaking in all the ideas, but the goal would be to focus on narrowing down my scope to that ONE money making idea I can implement right away to start seeing profits in a big way!

6.  Oh, and my whole blog was put together following John’s instructions in his free e-book “Make Money Online“, which you can sign up for on his blog.  Can’t tell you how many times I referred back to it and how much help John’s advice was to building it right.  I am excited to keep learning from him IN PERSON!

That means a lot of prep work for me before the event, like perfecting my elevator pitch, getting business cards ready, and doing my homework on each of the ProBloggers I intend to meet so I know who I’m talking to and what to talk about!  But, I’m up for it if you pick me, John!

I end with a favorite & fun loving toast of mine for all my competitors:

“Here’s to you and here’s to me,
May we never disagree.
But if we do,
The hell with you,
Here’s to me!

PICK ME!!

For those of you who didn’t know…Charles had his own contest a few months back and chose me as his winner to receive a pass to the Social Media Success Summit (which was awesome & I THANK YOU profusely for!!). I sure hope you’re right about the signs lining up pointing to success in blogging. I am determined to go the distance!

  11. Coree,

Congrats on winning! I was a bit shocked when I saw your blog title but once I read your reasons for why John should pick you I was pretty sure you were gonna win! I look forward to meeting you at Blogworld as well!

    • Coree (217 comments) says:

Hi Adria! Thanks, and congrats on your FULL ACCESS pass to Blogworld!! How exciting!

Yes, my blog title was meant to shock or amuse people. It’s those shocking Cosmo headlines that make you want to pick it up and read it, so that’s what I was going for here…and it worked. :)

Whenever I enter a contest I try to think about what type of person is sponsoring it, check out their style, and read some of the other entries to see what I can do to stand out from the crowd. I really couldn’t top your 500 hugs (especially with MY title!!). ;)

Congrats again & I can’t wait to meet you in Vegas! We will have to get together with all the other winners and have a toast to our success.
